Marcio Kogan – The unique architectural style
Brazilian architecture associated with illustrious names such as Lina Bo Bardi, Oscar Niemeyer and Rino Levi, pre-cursers of modern building materials such as mainly concrete, stone and glass. That architectural style has been maintained by a younger generation of architects of which talented which Marcio Kogan – “soul” of the design and architecture firm Studio MK27 – is a typical representative.
Born in São Paulo, he graduated with a degree in architecture from the Mackenzie University in 1976. After a period of time establishing himself as a film director in the early ’80s, along with his 16 colleagues, Marcio Kogan decided to set up Studio MK27 in São Paulo, Brazil. Perpetuating in the modern architectural style of their predecessors in the early 30’s which expressed the simplicity of spatial shapes and natural materials, Marcio Kogan created architectural masterpieces with a unique rectangular style and minimalist designs with modern and sophisticated allure. Each project is a challenge, marrying in total harmony social aspects, climate and terrain and achieving the needs and wants of customers. Since its establishment, the company has achieved much success with mass-scale projects with prestigious awards like Record House (2004 and 2005), Yellow Pencil (2008 and 2009), Dedalo Minosse (2008) and 12 awards granted by the IAB.
Recently, Marcio Kogan has marked the development of its global scale and architectural design by associating himself with renowned luxury villas projects such as Caye Sereno (also known as Lam Ngoc) in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam – listed as one of the seven wonders of the world natural heritage by UNESCO; developed by Tuan Chau Co. Ltd, Jen. this project is a joint venture between Tuan Chau (Viet Nam) and Jen Capital – a subsidiary Group Chiaphua (Hong Kong) with a long history of 90 years with experience in real estate development project 200 high level in Hong Kong, China, North America, and Southeast Asia. In Vietnam, the Group Chiaphua has been known for many famous works such as Grade A office buildings Saigon Tower (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), Parkland Residences – one of the first luxury serviced apartments First in District 2, Ho Chi Minh City, or Saigon Sports City (District 2, Ho Chi Minh City). Tuan Chau Group is also a big name in the field of real estate development project in Vietnam with “the Land reclamation” project which was full of difficulties and challenges in 1997 to create the road between the mainland and the Tuan Chau island.
